At Harris Family Farm, children recently had the opportunity to experience the joys of farm-to-school firsthand in a special event that brought together learning and fun in the great outdoors.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome from the farm staff, who guided the children on an exciting tour of the farm. From visiting the vegetable patches to meeting friendly farm animals, the kids were thrilled to explore the sights and sounds of rural life.
Next, it was time for some hands-on learning! The children rolled up their sleeves and got busy with farm activities like planting seeds, harvesting fresh produce, and even trying their hand at milking a cow. With each activity, they gained a deeper appreciation for where their food comes from and the hard work that goes into producing it.
Of course, no farm visit would be complete without a delicious farm-fresh meal! The children enjoyed a tasty lunch made from ingredients straight from the farm, savoring the flavors of nature’s bounty.
As the day came to a close, the children left with smiles on their faces and memories to last a lifetime. The Kids Farm-to-School Event at Harris Family Farm was a wonderful opportunity for children to connect with the earth, learn about sustainable farming practices, and experience the joys of fresh, healthy food straight from the source.
